For print, PDF or SVG is better, otherwise at least 2000 px.

Your QR code will appear here.

The code is created in your browser. We store neither your link nor the image.

No tracking, nothing stored

Everything happens in your browser

The code is calculated on your device. Neither your link nor the finished image is sent to our server, and none of it is stored. Our anonymous visitor statistics only count that the page was opened, not what you enter.

No detour, no expiry date

Dynamic QR codes route every scan through the provider’s server so it can count them. If the subscription or the service ends, the code stops working. Our codes contain your link directly. They work as long as your link works.

To check for yourself: load this page, disconnect from the internet and then create your code. It still works, because nothing is transmitted.

Which format for what?

All four formats contain the same code. They differ in how the image is stored and what it is good for.

SVG
SVG is made of shapes instead of pixels. That is why the code stays as sharp on a business card as on a poster. Good for graphics software and websites.
PDF
PDF is also a vector graphic and opens and prints in any PDF program. Print shops usually want print files as PDF. The page is 10 × 10 cm.
PNG
PNG is made of pixels and can have a transparent background. Good for Word, PowerPoint, websites and social media. Stretched beyond the size it was created at, it becomes blurry, so choose the right size straight away.
JPG
JPG is also made of pixels and always has a background. Use it when a program or form only accepts JPG.

If in doubt: PDF for anything printed, PNG for anything on screen.

Frequently asked questions

Does the QR code ever expire?

No. The code contains your link directly, without a redirect through our servers. It works as long as the linked page is online.

Can I change the destination later?

Not in the code itself. Once printed, it stays as it is.

If the destination might change, point the code to an address on your own website, for example your-company.com/flyer. You can later redirect that address to another page yourself.

Which colours work?

A dark code on a light background with clear contrast is the safest choice. A light code on a dark background works with many camera apps, but not with all of them. The generator points out both.

Test the code with two or three phones before printing.

How large should the code be printed?

As a rule of thumb, at least 2 × 2 cm, and larger the further away people stand. For a poster scanned from two metres, about 20 cm.

May I use the codes for my company?

Yes, commercially too, and without attribution.
